If Your Wheelchair is Made From a Lawnchair...You Might Be a Redneck

Don't adjust your monitor; you're seeing this correctly: a lawnchair wheelchair. Yeah...it's that bad. I guess there IS such a thing as an Iraqi redneck. Believe or not, there's some organization that builds these contraptions and sends them over here. No wonder these people hate us.

As I've mentioned before, our responsibility as a Force Protection Team is to provide security to personnel while they conduct their mission. This allows them the freedom to do their work and not have to worry about the situation around them. Recently, part of our team was tasked with providing escort and security for Coalition leadership while they attended an Iraqi Police graduation. This graduation was the first where a female class was graduating at the same time and on the same parade field as their male counterparts.

Here are the guidon bearers leading the graduation.

And here is the female class. Very HOT...wearing scarves...on a warm day in November.

Seeing the big-wigs off after the graduation ceremony.

Bye-bye big-wigs.

Part of our continuing education is to stay current with our basis soldier skills. This is a picture of me preparing an IV during our Combat Lifesaver Course.

Prepping my "patient".

Starting the flow of fluids.

A shot of me outside my trailer. I think this was our first cold day.
At some point, Saddam was trying to get the Olympics here. This is the remnants of the walls that surround what was supposed to be the Olympic Center.

This is the t-walls outside our compound. Not sure what the writing says, but I'm sure it very important.

Nothing significant here. Just feel-good picture of a soldier detaining a bad guy. This kind of stuff makes my day. Have a nice day, bad guy!
